HTC SMT5800 Reviews
CNET Reviews the HTC SMT5800 and writes, “The Verizon Wireless SMT5800 is a CDMA variant of the GSM HTC Vox. On the inside, it’s your standard Windows Mobile 6 smartphone but its true appeal lies in the design. The SMT5800 sports a compact chassis of a cell phone while packing in a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s a nice alternative to the bulkier Verizon Wireless XV6800 and even the Motorola Q9m. We will say that the smaller size makes the navigation controls a bit cramped. However, for the mobile professional looking for a smartphone to handle e-mail and some light editing, the SMT5800 is a good fit. Plus, it also offers EV-DO capabilities and good call quality. The Verizon Wireless SMT5800 is available now for $249.99 with a two-year contract and after discounts.” Link.
The Washingtonpost reviews the HTC SMT5800 and writes, “Despite liking its solid construction, very usable slide-out keyboard, and advanced features, the SMT5800’s poor battery performance will frustrate most users. If you’re looking for a small smart phone that you won’t use very often, perhaps the SMT5800 is a good choice. Most users who actually want to take advantage of the advanced features offered by a smart device, however, are better off going with a more dependable device like the Samsung Blackjack II or BlackBerry Curve.” Link.
Brighthand reviews the HTC SMT5800 (Verizon) and writes, “It’s a useful enough little smartphone, but the SMT5800 doesn’t really have anything to set it apart from the pack. The keyboard is just okay, the design is less than stellar, and it doesn’t possess any of the features like GPS or Wi-Fi that would really draw attention to it…In the end, the SMT5800 suffers from a certain amount of “too little, too late.” It’s not terrible, it just doesn’t do anything better than its competitors.” Link.
