Toshiba Portege G910 Reviews
CNET UK reviews the Toshiba Portege G910 and writes, “The first thing you’ll notice about the Toshiba Portege G910 is its design: it bears a striking resemblance to a cigarette lighter case and its faux leather finish will not look out of place at the local golf club. Hidden beneath the exterior lies a wealth of features, but does its performance score a hole in one?..The Toshiba Portege G910 won’t appeal to all consumers as it’s still relatively a large device. Taking images or making calls was awkward — via its front control system — and internal speaker volume was low. Although it’s plagued by some performance issues that need addressing, the powerful features, including a widescreen display and large Qwerty keyboard will be appealing enough as a business platform.” Link.
Trusted Reviews has a review of the Toshiba Portege G910 and writes, “The trouble with a smartphone such as this is that it has to perform well on several different fronts to be a success, especially for £400. So though it has its good points, the G910’s numerous failings drag it down to earth with a solid thump…It has a lovely screen and keyboard, a full array of high-end features and some thoughtful software extras, and for this I can forgive its size and heft. But its ‘innovative’ design means it’s a nightmare to make phone calls with, and that coupled with other foibles means it’s a product you’re probably best avoiding.” Link.
IT Reviews does a reviews of the Toshiba Portege G910 and writes, “On the outside this looks nothing like a Windows Mobile device. There is no number pad and just a tiny front screen, Call and End buttons and a D-pad to indicate it is a technology minded device at all…Toshiba is definitely targeting the business community with the Portégé G910, and it might appeal to anyone looking for a different styling and a capable device. At 183g in weight, though, you’ll need big pockets to carry it around.” Link.
Pocket-lint reviews the Toshiba Portage G910 and writes, “The Portégé G910 almost delivers. The keyboard is great to use and the screen is good and bright; Windows Mobile offers you perfunctory support for all your basic office tasks. The spec sheet looks good, giving you all the connections you need, GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi…But sadly, things just don’t come together. The external controls are fiddly to use, it takes an age and you’ll end up opening the device to select your contact, then closing to talk to them, and with this being a mobile phone, that presents something of a problem.” Link.
