Sony Ericsson W960i

The W960 was unveiled in June 2007 and marks a next generation of Walkman® phones. With room for up to 8,000 songs* and finger-touch navigation around playlists on the large touch screen, the days of taking an MP3 player and a phone with you are definitely over. The 2.6” display also serves as an excellent viewfinder for a 3.2 megapixel camera and as a widescreen for watching video in TV quality.

And when you’re on the move, the MDS-65 runs on batteries so you can use it anywhere you like – from barbecue to beach. With its sleek, futuristic silver finish, it can’t help but draw admiring glances.

Sony Ericsson W960 Reviews

CNET Australia reviews the Sony Ericsson W960i and writes, “When we first heard about the W960i we started asking if this would be the Apple iPhone killer. On paper the W960i has the iPhone beat, with faster data speeds, a better camera, and comparable storage. With that considered you’d be probably be burned at the stake for suggesting the W960i was a more attractive device, and the slow operation may be enough to turn off a portion of shoppers…But if you can get past the clunky interface there’s no doubt a vast range of features waiting beyond the load times; both for basic business use and for entertainment.” Link.

3G reviews the Sony Ericsson W960i and writes, “Should you ever get to grips with operating the phone, you’ll find that its performance lives up to the top spec. We found the camera a lot more capable than that of the W910 Walkman phone and the music player is everything you’d expect from a Walkman device. The sound quality is great and Sony Ericsson has launched a range of music accessories to complement the device.” Link.

Pocket Gamer reviews the Sony Ericsson W960i and writes, “The W960i is certainly a tricky phone to recommend without reservations. The new user interface is one of the best we’ve ever seen on a phone and the potential for touchscreen gaming is immense. Sadly, we’ve seen such promise squandered in the past and it would be naive to expect a flood of worthy titles to appear in the near future so we must remain cautiously optimistic. Nevertheless, the W960i is off to a wonderful start; the bundled Vijay Singh Pro Golf 3D remains one of the more compelling sports titles we’ve yet witnessed on a mobile phone and the exceptional features housed within the phone’s admittedly clunky exterior are likely to please even the most discerning mobile user.” Link.
