CNET reviews the Sony Ericsson K660i and writes, “The K660i seems like a tricky pitch for Sony Ericsson. Its feature set resembles a basic, pre-paid model phone with the addition of HSDPA. The question is: does the targeted youth market want or need fast Web on their phones? Adding a popular instant messaging client would have made the answer to that question simpler… In the past we’ve found Sony Ericsson’s budget range to be very good, such as with the S500i, and while the K660i performs as well as the S500i in terms of voice and texting, it certainly doesn’t match the S500i in terms style or sex appeal. Perhaps we’re being overly fashion conscious, but we think sex appeal will prove to be more important than speedy Web browsing to this market.
3G reviews the Sony Ericsson K660i and writes, “With the news that Sony Ericsson’s new C702 and C902 handsets are to become the new Cyber-shot range, we discover that the ever-popular K-series will now cater for Sony Ericsson’s mid-range market. First to enter the new K-fray is the K660i, a stylish handset with a host of features…The Sony Ericsson K660i is a devilishly stylish handset that will appeal to the web generation who want a PC-like internet access without having to resort to a more bulky smartphone. Cynics may point to the lack of Wi-Fi as a fundamental oversight for an internet phone, but the mouse-style pointer and shortcut keys are great additions. A potential diamond in the rough is the Sony Ericsson K660i. It might not be laden with glamorous features, but its simplicity could just be what you’re looking for…The Sony Ericsson K660i definitely isn’t one of Sony Ericsson’s most advanced handsets, but similar to the Nokia 6300, it’s an easy-to-use phone that does the basics very well. If you’re not after all the fancy frills, it’s definitely worth a look.” Link.
