Motorola Z10 Reviews
PC Authority reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “In place of the clam-shell design, the Motorola Z10 is a slider phone that features a neat curve design when slide open that will comfortable hugs the shape of a face. A sleek silver back has been combined with a reflective facia, 2.2in QVGA screen and flush soft touch buttons to create a contemporary styling sure to appeal to even the most minimalist-loving users…While we loved the movie making aspect of the Motorola Z10 we can’t help but feel it’s a gimmick that most smartphone users will tire of easily (not that we’re fickle at PCA or anything). Otherwise this is a sleek and feature-rich phone.” Link.
3G reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “The MOTORIZR Z8 proved a hugely popular handset when it was launched last summer, in part to the fact that it came bundled with a full version of the original Jason Bourne film, The Bourne Identity. Perhaps trying to recreate former glories, the MOTO Z10 uses the same banana-like design of the Z8, and this time you don’t just get the first Bourne film; you get the entire trilogy, something Motorola needs to take credit for. But more of that later…With the emphasis on video, the MOTO Z10 succeeds in achieving its aim. Motorola has produced a handset that doubles up as a capable video-editing suite, and the video playback needs to be applauded as does the inclusion of three full Hollywood blockbusters. While we had a few issues with the fiddly controls, we were compensated with some novel and useful applications. Though a relatively quiet year, the MOTO Z10 could be just the handset to put Motorola back on the map.” Link.
Trusted Reviews reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “There were several interesting and novel things about the MOTORIZR Z8 but its main selling point was almost certainly its banana-bendy action. The MOTO Z10 builds on what was achieved with the Z8, and while again there is a lot of novelty here it is the banana stuff that grabs the attention first off…The MOTO Z10 picks up where the MOTORIZR Z8 left off, but it’s difficult to say whether this phone will have a massive affect in turning Motorola’s fortunes around. Operation can be sluggish and battery life has fallen a little, but there are a good number of features here, including that novel kick-slider design and updated specs.” Link.
CNET UK reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “We really wanted to like the Motorola Z10 because it looks great and is refreshing change from Motorola’s initial obsession with clamshell phones. Unfortunately, the software doesn’t hold it up and the keypad could be easier to use. Its saving grace, to some extent, is that the audio quality during calls is superb…If good audio quality isn’t enough for you, then this phone will be a disappointment. You may want to consider the LG Secret, which is another slider that boasts HSDPA, or the Nokia N95 8GB that packs a larger screen for viewing films.” Link.
Pocket-lint reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “Overall, the Z10 is a great device with a quality feel and a butch look. It won’t cause too much a bulge in pocket but packs in a great range of features. For those who often shoot video out and about, be you a citizen blogger journalist, or teenage miscreant, then the Z10 will give you plenty of options as long as you consider any data costs if choosing the immediate online option…It is worth commenting that as a phone, and by that we mean making calls, it is a pleasure to use. The shape as well as the sound quality is very good. For normal functions, like texting and organising yourself, Motorola has come on leaps and bounds. But we do have reservations about some of the memory allocation, the feeling that things are a little disparate and those terrible headphones.” Link.
Wired reviews the Motorola Z10 and writes, “Had Motorola spent even half as much time making the software as innovative as its break-away hardware, the Z10 would have wowed us. But with its lacking OS and underwhelming camera, the phone didn’t feel ready for primetime.” Link.
