HTC Advantage X7510 Reviews

DigitalBurn reviews the HTC Advantage X7510 and writes, “…overall, I am really enjoying my time with the Advantage. It is not likely to be my every day device, due to its size, but I can certainly see where it would be great on business trips where I don’t need a laptop to do photo processing. A device like the Advantage can offer me enough computing power to cover live press events and take care of issues back at the home office without the extra weight and bulk of a laptop. But with a price tag of well over US$1000, I feel few people are going to be willing to drop the required coin to pick up one of these gadgets. Add to that the fact that the device can not be sold in the U.S. due to some Qualcomm chipset issues, and well, it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing an Advantage on every street corner any time soon…But regardless, the Advantage is one of my favorite devices that have crossed my desk so far this year. It’s very different, maybe even a bit odd, but it is very cool none the less.” Link.

MobileBurn reviews the HTC Advantage X7510 and writes, “So while the X7510 is certainly worthy of review, it doesn’t exactly fit the mold of the typical devices we cover here at MobileBurn. As such, I thought this would be a fine time to introduce our readers to our new site, DigitalBurn.com. DigitalBurn has a much broader focus, featuring tech and gadgets of all sorts. From MP3 players, to HD televisions, to Laptops and, yes, even phones. So click on through to the HTC X7510 Advantage review that I have posted on DigitalBurn to get the details on this cool device, as well as check out a few photos…But for those of you that need instant gratification, and I know that includes many people, I’ve pasted the video of the X7510 in action below for your enjoyment.” Link.

Tracy and Matt’s Blog reviews the HTC Advantage X7510 and writes, “The X7510 is a professional mobile data device, which, apart from the standard PDA functions the video out and Opera Mobile 9 is amazing and is one of the best browsing experiences you can get on a pocketable device…Would I buy one? If I was forced to have a non-smartphone, and didn’t want to use my laptop when on my travels, yes as it’s one of the best portable devices I’ve used in years If it was my money? It would depend on how good the shift was and how much I needed vista. However the HTC X7510 really does offer true instant-on computing and great battery life which is important to many.” Link.

MobileTechReview has a review of the HTC Advantage X7510 and writes, “As always, if you need something between a PDA and a notebook with excellent connectivity, the Advantage is the way to go. It’s instant-on, has much better battery life than a notebook or UMPC, weighs less than a pound and thanks to Opera 9.5, it has a near-desktop web browsing experience. If you already own the first gen Advantage, Windows Mobile 6.1, doubled storage capacity and flash rather than hard disk media are the selling points…But you do lose the front-facing hardware controls which take the fun out of gaming and put more work into scrolling through ebooks. Both keyboards are somewhat awkward, but we give the advantage to the X7510 which provides more tactile and auditory feedback despite the no-travel keys. Should you upgrade if you already own the first gen Advantage? Probably not. But the improvements keep the Advantage viable and attractive to potential new owners.” Link.

CNET UK reviews the HTC Advantage X7510 and writes, “Price is always going to be the X7510’s biggest downfall, regardless if the device is well specced and featured. Despite it not being practical for all mobile situations, the X7510 is still a great piece of kit and we especially liked the new haptic Qwerty keyboard and large screen. Coupled with the instant-on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, 16GB of storage and supplied software, you have a useful alternative to a laptop for out of office use.” Link.
