HP iPAQ 914c Reviews
Pocket-lint reviews the HP iPAQ 914c Business Manager and writes, “As well as offering portability, the new iPAQ is quick to connect up in Wi-Fi hotspots and offers tri-band UMTS/HSDPA at 7.2Mbps, as well as quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth… Also worth a mention are the built-in Cyberon Voice Commander, which tells you what to say to get what you want, and HP Voice Reply features, which enable handsfree emailing and other device commands…A bit slow to start up, but once you get going, this smartphone is easy to use, feature rich and small enough not to ruin the line of your suit.” Link.
PC Pro reviews the HP iPAQ 914c and writes, “…the HP’s size means that it can fit in an absolutely huge lithium polymer battery. With a capacity of 1,940mAh it’s the biggest cell we’ve ever seen in a Windows Mobile phone and larger than the 1,500mAh batteries seen in the E71 and Bold handsets. It’s good enough to stretch the phone’s lifespan out to three full days of light use with push email turned on, which is a highly impressive performance. And unlike the Nokia E71, this phone can be charged over USB…But is HP’s 914c good enough to challenge either the Nokia E71 or BlackBerry Bold’s positions on our A List? Alas no. It has the features. It has the battery life. It has a good screen and keyboard. But its use of Windows mobile handicaps it and, alas, it’s just not as sexy as the competition.” Link.
Trusted Reviews does a review of the HP iPAQ 914c Business Messenger and writes, “When considered on its own, HP’s iPAQ 914c isn’t a bad phone at all. In fact it’s among the better Windows Mobile BlackBerry copies around. The keyboard is good, the screen not bad, it’s stuffed with features and the battery life is impressive…But it’s hard to recommend a phone when in almost every area that matters it is outstripped by the best the competition can muster. Nokia’s E71 is just as well-stocked with features and just as usable as the 914c but it manages to squeeze everything into a slimmer, sleeker, far sexier device, and one that’s even a little cheaper.” Link.
CNET UK does a review of the HP iPAQ 914c Business Messenger and writes, “In the end, we have mixed feelings about the HP iPaq 914c. On the one hand it’s a capable performer in terms of handling most business requirements, but on the other, it’s still deficient in design functionality, as is evidenced by its lack of front-facing video camera and TV-out function. There’s also strong competition in the form of the cheaper Nokia E71, which we recommend you look at before making any decisions.” Link.
