HP iPAQ 312 Reviews
CNET Australia reviews the HP iPAQ 312 and writes, “In the end, we were left with very mixed feelings about HP’s stab at the portable GPS market. On the one hand there’s the patchy Bluetooth hands-free and text-to-speech implementation, while on the other we have that brilliant screen and plentiful processing grunt. Our experience was also tempered by the fact that our first two 312s died unceremonious deaths. The first of these occurred as we were barrelling along a motorway to nowhere at great pace and unsure of the exit we should take. We do, however, suspect that these deaths may have been caused by our use of another GPS unit’s mini-USB car charger.” Link.
Good Gear Guide reviews the HP iPAQ 312 and writes, “HP’s iPAQ 312 is a strange device. Fitting somewhere between a PDA, a GPS and a mobile phone accessory, this unit packs in GPS functionality with some entertainment tools and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity to create what HP has dubbed as the ‘Travel Companion’…Battery life was definitely a concern. We barely got several hours use out of the device on a full charge, so an AC connection is basically a requirement. The iPAQ 312 comes with 128MB of memory onboard and an SD-HC card slot for further expansion.” Link.
