E-TEN Glofiish X650

The latest X650 is designed to appeal to those seeking a compact, full-featured device that is also affordable. A VGA display offers several significant benefits to the user. The greater resolution (four times higher than that of a typical Pocket PC Phone) enables a larger proportion of a document, calendar, map, or web page etc. to be displayed on screen at once, increasing productivity. Additionally, the higher pixel density means that text appears sharper and easier to read while pictures and video appear more detailed. VGA is set to become one of the key specifications for Pocket PC Phones in the coming year.
The Glofiish X650 features E-TEN’s all-in-one connectivity solution comprising of worldwide GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device all comes preloaded with E-TEN’s exclusive software suite including Mobile Shell, Namecard Manager and Backup Utility as well as Microsoft Office Mobile, Windows Live and other utilities.
Specifications of the X650 include a Samsung SC3 processor at 500Mz, 256MB ROM, 2-megapixel auto-focus camera, FM Tuner, and FM Transmitter (subject to region). Dimensions of the handset are an ultra-compact 107 x 58 x 14.7mm with a weight of just 136g.
The Glofiish X650 is offered in two color choices, black and purple.
E-TEN Glofiish X650 Reviews
MobileTechReview has a review of the E-TEN Glofiish X650 and writes, “Like all E-TEN Glofiish Pocket PC phones, the X650 is an unlocked GSM phone which means you can use it with any carrier’s SIM. It’s a quad band world phone with EDGE and GPRS for data. It’s available from importers and online retailers for approximately $550 US with no contract. The PDA phone is available in two colors: purple (more like a deep plum) and black…The E-TEN Glofiish X650 is a very strong Windows Mobile 6 Professional phone that has everything except 3G. The VGA display, strong WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0, fast CPU and full SiRF III GPS are impressive and compete well with HTC devices. The X650 is particularly attractive if you don’t need a keyboard and the bulk it adds. Strangely, the X650’s biggest competitor is E-TEN’s own X800, which does everything the X650 does and adds 3G. Given the $75 to $100 price difference between the two, we’d pick the X800 for its better display and 3G. But if you’re on a tight budget, the X650 gets you most of the X800 for a bit less money.” Link.
