Verizon PN-820 Reviews

CNET has a review of the Verizon Wireless PN-820 and writes, “General performance was decent. There were times where there was a slight lag when launching apps such as the camera, but overall we enjoyed snappy response. The Web browsing experience was also good thanks to the EV-DO support, as pages loaded fairly quickly. Multimedia performance was what we expected from a smart phone, which is to say that listening to music was bearable through the included earbuds, but songs sounded tinny and weak through the phone’s speakers. Video was surprisingly watchable on the PN-820 as the picture was clear and smooth and audio matched up with the video, but we couldn’t imagine watching more than a couple minutes of footage on the small screen. … Though not the flashiest handset on the market, the Verizon Wireless PN-820 offers mobile professionals a decent-performing Windows Mobile smart phone in a functional flip phone design.” Link.

Brighthand has a review of the Pantech PN-820 and writes, “If you must have a more traditionally designed Smartphone on Verizon, the Pantech is pretty much your only option. Otherwise, the Pantech PN-820 doesn’t really do anything that hasn’t been done elsewhere. It’s not a bad device by any means, but EV-DO and the use of a MiniSD slot are its only substantial advantages over the slightly cheaper and much more stylish Cingular 3125. Still, it’s good to see other manufacturers recognizing the need for quality clamshell smartphones, and the PN-820 is a better first effort than many.” Link.
