t-mobile-shadow3.jpg The T-Mobile Shadow helps people effortlessly connect through the phone’s innovative design and screamingly simple user interface. T-Mobile teamed with HTC, the designer and manufacturer, to eloquently integrate the phone’s form and function. This focused effort resulted in an unmatched communications experience that strips out the complexity of traditional multi-function phones – so people don’t have to wrestle with technology – and makes it more intuitive for customers to explore and try new ways to communicate.

“We partnered exclusively with T-Mobile to help them deliver a deep communications experience that is built around the customer,” said Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC. “In both form and function, the T-Mobile Shadow delivers an unmistakable commitment to enhancing personal relationships.”

Highlighting the phone’s distinct features and its complete ease of use, the T-Mobile Shadow offers:(1)

* An enhanced myFaves functionality that allows even more flexibility and ways to communicate and connect. Through this experience customers can now call, send an e-mail, text or instant message, and share a picture, video or voice note, all with a push of the button right from the myFaves home screen.
* An enhanced user-interface integrated with the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 platform.
* A sleek, slider design, and a spin navigation wheel that make it a breeze to scroll through the polished user interface, myFaves icons, and other core phone features.
* One of the largest, most-radiant screens on any T-Mobile phone. When combined with its high-quality, 2.0-megapixel digital camera with video capture, it enables customers to record and share those special moments in vibrant ways. Plus, a multimedia player provides a convenient way to listen to and share favorite music and video.
* An array of lights and sounds that differentiate one function from another, whether you’re receiving an e-mail, picture message or calendar appointment notification.
* Wi-Fi and EDGE-enabled high-speed Internet access to power Web surfing so that connecting to your favorite social networking site is quick and easy.
* A reminder feature, so customers need never forget another friend’s or family member’s birthday or anniversary with the ability to set reminders for these important days in the lives of their ‘fave five.’
* T-Mobile Address Book that lets customers easily import contact information from Yahoo!®, Gmail™, Microsoft Outlook® and other e-mail services onto their phone using my.t-mobile.com, and automatically back up their phone’s address book online.

T-Mobile shadow Reviews

Laptop Mag reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “The T-Mobile Shadow was designed to be a messaging and multimedia device first and a productivity tool second, and it succeeds in hitting its target market. E-mail junkies will likely prefer the identically priced BlackBerry Pearl, which is even smaller and lighter, but this Windows Mobile device makes more of a statement while making the transition from a traditional phone to a smart one less of a leap.” Link.

PC Mag reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “Sure, the Shadow is a contender, but given the bigger picture it’s difficult to see why you’d choose this smartphone over the competition. T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Curve is a stellar messaging device and a better voice phone; in addition, it makes free calls over Wi-Fi. And the Pearl is much more visually attractive. Windows Mobile aficionados may want to stick with T-Mobile’s venerable Dash, which has a full QWERTY keyboard and otherwise similar performance to the Shadow.” Link.

CNET reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “The entry-level Shadow offers a fun, fresh design and interface that doesn’t scream, “I’m all business,” while still offering the robust messaging capabilities and productivity tools of a Windows Mobile 6 device. That said, there are some design quirks, and call quality could be slightly better. Still, if you’re looking to make the plunge into the world of smartphones and you’re too old for the Sidekick, the Shadow is a good place to start. The T-Mobile Shadow will be available starting October 31 for $149.99 with a two-year contract and voice and data plan, or $199.99 with a two-year contract with a voice plan.” Link.

SlashGear reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “Overall, the Shadow beat my expectations. Its form factor is perfect, its hardware is optimal, and its delivery is solid. Now if we could get a touch screen on this little guy, it would be a 5-out-of-5.” Link.

MobileTechReview has a review of the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “The Shadow is slim, very attractive and hip looking, something we don’t often say about MS smartphones. It does a good job of bridging the gap between a sexy-looking feature phone with entertainment on board and a business-minded device. Power users will be happy to hear the full compliment of WinMo features are there and novices will find navigating features easier. Though the phone has just the basic 201MHz TI CPU, performance is good by MS smartphone standards (avoid having lots of apps running concurrently though). The screen is gorgeous and music capabilities are strong. We appreciate the inclusion of Microsoft Voice Command and the basic phone accessories that some carriers leave out– stereo headset, headphone/charger splitter and leather case with belt clip. The SureType style keyboard isn’t our cup of tea, but that’s purely a matter of personal preference and what you’re used to (we use full QWERTY devices).” Link.

InfoSync reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “The T-Mobile Shadow offers real visual improvements over the standard Windows Mobile 6 interface, but we doubt any users will be fooled into thinking this isn’t a WinMo phone. The Neo interface looks fantastic, but it actually adds very little functionality to the phone, and instead makes functions easier to find and activate. That’s nice, but maybe we were looking for something to truly transport us from Windows Mobile into HTC’s own phone realm. The boxy look won’t impress anyone, but Windows Mobile geeks should be satisfied that this phone has real smartphone chops, with Wi-Fi and all the calendar and office prowess that you’d expect from a Windows phone. The rest of us will have to watch on and wonder what HTC could have done with the Shadow if it weren’t floating on the Windows Mobile raft.” Link.

PC World reviews the T-Mobile Shadow and writes, “I’m not convinced that this phone will induce anyone to switch to T-Mobile. Still, the Shadow’s impressive design certainly distinguishes it from the muddle of Windows Mobile handsets. So long as perfect audio isn’t a requirement when you shop for your next smart phone, I’d recommend it (the audio issue may be annoying, but it didn’t keep me from clearly communicating during calls). With the arrival of the Shadow, “friendly Windows Mobile smart phone” is no longer an oxymoron.” Link.
