Nokia N95 8GB Reviews

All About Symbian reivews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “A big thumbs up overall though. Nokia has listened carefully to the feedback coming from early N95 users and has addressed just about every criticism and done it in style. The original device enjoyed several major firmware updates and countless extensions via the Download! application and I’d expect this to see the same attention from Nokia.” Link.

CNET Australia reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “Upgraded mobile phones are usually disappointing, but the Nokia N95 8GB is a truly superb successor. The larger screen, 8GB memory and black casing are so seductive, we were sad to see it go back to Nokia. It’s still pricey, however, and it’s still really rather chunky.” Link.

CNET UK reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “Upgraded mobile phones are usually disappointing, but the Nokia N95 8GB is a truly superb successor. The larger screen, 8GB memory and black casing are so seductive, we were sad to see it go back to Nokia. It’s still pricey, however, and it’s still really rather chunky.” Link.

Pocket-lint reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “The new N95 takes the original model’s jack-of-all-trades feature set and refines it even further answering some of the key criticisms.” Link.

3G reviews the Nokia N95 and writes, “We know the bus analogy is an old cliché, but you wait ages for Nokia to come up with an 8GB phone and then it comes up with two, with the N81 8GB and the N95 8GB appearing mischievously at the same time. The N95 8GB is the better featured of the pair, and, if we were making a straight choice between them, it is the one we would go for…Huge memory, a better display and sharper looks make this an improvement to the original N95, so, when your contract runs out, it’s worth considering an upgrade.” Link.

Geek reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “Overall the N95 8GB is an impressive phone. It is extremely expensive (it is not sold by any carriers yet), it is not particularly small, and it has a slightly plastic-y feel to it, but it is still quite deserving of the role as Nokia’s flagship. The N95 is extremely feature-rich and what it lacks in ease of use it makes up for in functionality. So if you are the type of user who can appreciate aGPS, a 5.0 megapixel camera, 640×480 video recording, dual cameras, and mobile gaming in one device then this is the phone for you. If you want something simply to listen to music and send a few texts in style than stick with the iPhone, one of N95’s other high-end competitors, or a different Nokia.” Link.

LetsGoMobile reviews the N95 8GB and writes, “The Nokia N95 8GB is a true multimedia mobile phone with enhanced functions. Although it is Nokia’s second double slider model, I have some comments on it. The lens cover disappeared which makes your fingers touch the lens too easily. Despite the 8GB internal memory of the Nokia N95-2 it takes a while before the pictures are written to the internal memory. Lacking of an optical zoom is a real miss. The flash now exists of a threesome LEDs. And although LEDs are strong, I prefer a Xenon flash. The LEDs are sufficiently powerful to reasonably expose objects within reach but a Xenon flash is even more powerful. The changes seem marginal but reason enough to declare the N95 8GB to be the bigger brother of the N95. The Nokia N95 8GB is recommendable for those who like to watch pictures or movies or listen to a fine piece of music whilst travelling.” Link.

InfoSync reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “The Nokia N95 8GB has only improved since we last saw it, but so have our expectations grown as well, and we’ve come to feel stronger about great interface design and a fast, reliable bit of desktop synchronization software. This isn’t the iPhone killer, in fact it’s the exact opposite of that device. The Nokia N95 is packed to the gills with features; it does just about everything we’ve ever seen a phone do, at least in this country…But it lacks an intuitive, fun interface, and the desktop software, though improved to the point of being usable, is a far cry from Apple’s seamless, reliable iTunes experience. It’s a tough call between the two, and as phone geeks, we’d love to own the feature-rich N95, though we wouldn’t hock our iPhone to buy one. In the end, we’re glad both phones are out there, because they each represent the goal that the other should strive to achieve.” Link.

IT Reviews has a review of the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “Nokia’s N95 has come on in great strides since it was first released. When I saw an early review sample I was not overly impressed. The device itself felt plasticy in build, and the software was not as robust as it could be…Things have moved on, though, and Nokia re-released the N95 with 8GB of built-in memory and improved software. Oh, and the phone is black as opposed to the original N95’s rather grubby silver.” Link.

ChannelWeb reviews the Nokia N95 8GB and writes, “One of the ongoing discussions in the Test Center has been whether the new Nokia (NYSE:NOK) N95 8 GB is a phone with a camera, or a camera with a phone. Or is it a media player that can take pictures and let you talk to others? The latest N95 from the Finland-based telecommunications giant does all three so well, it’s hard to decide…With too many features to mention, each done well, it is clear why the Nokia N95 series has been popular in the U.S. and around the world — even without a carrier subsidizing sales. The latest 8GB model just improves on an already successful device. Anyone looking to replace, or buy their first, phone, camera, or media player would be wise to consider the N95-4.” Link.
