Pocket-lint reviews the HTC Touch Cruise and writes, “Wrapped in rubberised plastic, the Cruise has a quality feel to it, only marred by the flimsy microSD expansion slot cover and the volume slider, which rattles, spoiling what is otherwise an aesthetically pleasing package. A stylus is neatly concealed in the side of the device…There is no keyboard here, instead relying on the on-screen 20-key QWERTY equivalent, which takes some getting used to, but is just about manageable with fingers, although, if writing longer emails, you may wish to go to the stylus.” Link.

CNET reviews the HTC Touch Criuse and writes, “Belonging to the same family as the HTC Touch and HTC Touch Dual, the Touch Cruise goes beyond the unique TouchFLO interface by adding GPS and TomTom navigation software, making it one of the more powerful GPS-enabled smartphones. That said, we were disappointed to learn that you only get one map free so you’ll have to spend extra money if you want to travel beyond one city, and that’s on top of the $600 to $700 you’d spend to buy an unlocked version of the phone. Yes, it’s a very powerful and well-connected smartphone, but some of its limitations makes it hard to justify spending that much dough, especially when you can find comparable products such as the AT&T Tilt for less.” Link.

Absolute Gadget reviews the HTC Touch Cruise and writes, “Our other biggest fear was the battery life. We’d heard this model was charge hungry and needed regular top ups. If you use it like we do, it is going to get juiced everytime you sync with your computer, which calms some of those fears. If you’re not likely to connect it using the USB lead, you’ll want to get into a routine of charging it at least every other day…So, does the latest Touch Cruise do well in the pocket test? (ie, how soon before we have something else in our pocket now this review is complete?) Well, thanks to its Wi-Fi connection, office editing function and new found navigating skills, it’ll take an equal handset with a snappy camera to make us switch.” Link.
