Trusted Reviews has a review of the E-TEN Glofiish X500+ Pocket PC and writes, “Technically, the 400MHz Samsung processor seemed to be up to the task required, though I’d have liked to see E-TEN go to town with the built in memory. 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM aren’t wildly out of step with what else is around, but after a hard reset I found my review sample offering just 30MB of free storage memory. … I am a fan of E-TEN’s Windows Mobile devices. The company seems to find plenty of ways of augmenting the basic operating system that others don’t, and while not every add-on will be useful some are certainly worth having. Without 3G this is not quite the Pocket PC with everything, but it comes close and that high resolution screen is superb.” Link.

MobileTechReview has a review of the E-TEN Glofiish X500+ and writes, “This absolutely feature-packed PDA phone delivers on nearly all fronts, with an excellent GPS, good VGA display, reliable unlocked quad band GSM phone, WiFi and strong Bluetooth. The camera and FM radio fall short, but the package as a whole is strong and the business card reader pulls through, despite the weak camera. We like E-TEN’s usual generous software bundle: their apps are both useful and lightweight. And the VGA display in a relatively slim and compact form is extremely appealing. though you’ll need good eyes to see small fonts when taking advantage of high resolution settings in applications like Internet Explorer Mobile. The X500+ isn’t a beauty, but we love the soft touch finish that improves both appearance and grippiness.” Link.

CNET Asia has a review of the E-Ten glofiish X500+ and writes, “Like the X500, the X500+ uses a Samsung 400MHz processor. Even though that’s the case, we found this updated model slower than devices with the same chip. This is likely due to the VGA screen, with the processor doing more to draw the display compared with a QVGA one. So you may find the device slightly sluggish at times, though it wasn’t slow to the point of frustration for us. Its GPS performance is up to scratch, and we had no problems with getting a lock or navigating. Battery life is decent, giving us about two days of use on a single charge.” Link.

In this case the X500+ offers a set of features which, in combination, we’ve never seen before.
