BenQ E72 Reviews

Techradar reviews the BenQ E72 and writes, “BenQ isn’t one of the big hitters in the mobile phone market and the E72 won’t do anything to change that perception. It’s a ho-hum mobile handset, solidly-built, but with nothing slick or eye-catching about it. In fact, the E72 is easily eclipsed by entry-level models offered by Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Nokia…Finally, the BT Fusion functionality is only available if you subscribe to BT’s Total Broadband service. Monthly line rental starts at £35 (with 400 minutes, 100 texts) and drops down to £25 (200 minutes, 100 texts) and £19 (100 minutes, 50 texts). As clever as the GSM/VoIP switching is, you have to wonder whether BT Fusion is still a relevant service. Especially with mobile companies aggressively offering hundreds of free minutes to its customers…Ultimately, the BenQ E72 is a niche handset that just can’t cut it in this post-iPhone world.” Link.

Pocket-lint reviews the BenQ E72 and writes, “The tech specs are a little lacklustre too for a device that seems to want to give your that “connected on the move” feeling, with only GPRS/GSM/EDGE and no sign of 3G. So whilst the form gives you that mobile feeling, you lack the usability of a normal Nokia or Sony Ericsson device, and from Windows Mobile you don’t get that smartphone experience you’ll find with HTC…Overall, you can’t help but feel that the BenQ E72 is something of a losing combination, struggling to meet expectations in either the mobile phone or smartphone departments.” Link.

IT Reviews does a review of the BenQ E72 and writes, “This is a good looking Windows Mobile handset with excellent software for Instant Messaging fans and Wi-Fi for the rest of us. It is hampered by short battery life, a small screen and a slow processor, though.” Link.

CNET UK does a review of the BenQ E72 and writes, “It’s nice to see a company with a different take on Windows Mobile, and with the E72, BenQ shows originality in both hardware design and software. Although a faster processor, a larger screen, more on-board memory and Office Mobile wouldn’t go amiss, these features would make the E72 much more of a ‘me too’ device. Still, as it stands, this phone may satisfy only a small proportion of business users.” Link.
