T-Mobile MDA Vario II

ComputerActive has a review up of the T-Mobile MDA Vario II and writes, “The most distinctive aspect of the design is the full Qwerty keyboard, hidden underneath the display – accessible by sliding the screen across. When open, the screen automatically switches from portrait to landscape mode. The keyboard, although small, is actually very usable – definitely quicker than tapping out words using predictive text. … If you’re fed up of waiting for downloads on the move, then T-Mobile may be just the device. The Vario II is a feature-packed mobile phone with support for near broadband speeds while you’re out and about.” Link.

ITReviews has a review up of the T-Mobile MDA Vario II and writes, “T-Mobile launched its HSDPA service earlier this summer. It is essentially a tweaked version of 3G and offers data speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. 3G tops out at a theoretical maximum of 384Kbps, so if you are in need of fast data this so called ‘mobile broadband’ should appeal. … The MDA Vario II offers the standard Windows Mobile 5.0 fare in hardware that is suitable for those who need to do a bit of typing while out and about but don’t need a full-blown laptop. The HSDPA connection is stunningly fast in use.” Link.

WebUser has a review up of the T-Mobile MDA Vario II and writes, “It’s hard to find much to fault about the MDA Vario II, a stylish handset with everything you need for work and play on the move. It’s super-fast for browsing the web, very simple to operate, and comes with a choice of pay-monthly price plans. We could quibble that the 64MB of onboard memory isn’t a great deal but this can be upgraded with a Micro SD card, and is unlikely to prevent the Vario II setting the high watermark for smart phones for at least the next few months.” Link.
