Sony Ericsson M600i Reviews
3G has a review of the Sony Ericsson M600i and writes, “Without a camera your main use of 3G is going to be the Web and data exchange. We can report that Web browsing is superb. We set our review handsets, which was operator free, up with our Orange 3G SIM and can report that the browser renders Web pages to the width of the screen so you don’t have to worry about horizontal scrolling, and that you can open new pages in new windows, switching between them using tiny tabs. You can even switch to landscape view if that suites a particular Web page better.”
MobileBurn has a review up of the Sony Ericsson M600i and writes, “The QWERTY keyboard on the M600 is unusual in that the right and left edge of each convex shaped key serves a different purpose. … It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that this keyboard arrangement is not going to be as easy to use as that of the Sidekick 3 or a Treo 700p, but I can tell you that while I personally found the keyboard somewhat difficult to use at first, I have managed to adapt to it over the course of a week. … I actually like the M600i now. Due to its bugs and various rough edges I can not, in good conscience, give it a top rating, but I can feel comfortable in recommending it to people that want full PDA functionality in a normally sized phone. As long as they realize that this is still very much a PDA in that it requires use of a stylus more often than one might hope.”
Pocket-lint has a review up of the Sony Ericsson M600i and writes, “While as a first stab the M600i is passable, up against the competition it just doesn’t really stand up and given the choice of either this, the new BlackBerry Pearl or the Treo 750v this would be left of the table last. The bright clear touch screen is nice, but the M600i is let down by a fiddly interface and the fiddly to use keys don’t help the matter either. Disappointing.”
PCAuthority has a review up of the Sony Ericsson M600i and writes, “You’ll find yourself gingerly rocking on the side of a button to select the character you’re after, and missing half the time until you get used to it. Once you’re past this hurdle, you’ll be disheartened to find that it’s still not as fast as using standard predictive text on a normal phone’s keypad, which you can’t do on the M600i. … It’s well built, surprisingly light, nicely proportioned for a smartphone and looks very nice. It’s just a pity there’s no function to follow its form.”
