E-TEN X500 glofiish Reviews
PocketNow has a review up of the E-TEN glofiish X500 and concludes, “There’s no doubt that this is a high-end Pocket PC phone. The use of quality materials and textures and the breakthrough integration of a slew of wireless technologies (though no 3G) in such a slim form factor all make for a terrifically well-rounded device. This device doesn’t fail in any one category - the only thing that it is really missing is UMTS capability. If you’ve got the money and want an attractive, capable, and oh yes - slim Pocket PC phone, then you may want to catch a glofiish.” Link.
MobileTechReview has a review up of the E-TEN Glofish X500 and concludes, “There’s a lot to like about the Glofiish X500: it’s a quad band world phone with good phone reception, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, a strong GPS and good battery life. A few unpolished edges gnaw away at our star rating however: it looks and feels like a PDA and thus has poor phone ergonomics, the GPS applet’s lat and long are off by 11 miles, the FM radio reads stations at the wrong number, and spelling errors make the device feel a bit third rate. E-TEN devices have always suffered from spelling and grammar errors, but now that they’ve been at it for 3 years and 5 phone models, we’d hoped to see these fixed. That said, if you want a phone, PDA and a full GPS in one device, there aren’t many choices, so the Glofiish X500 is certainly well worth considering. It’s loaded with features, great value-added software and the GPS radio itself is accurate.” Link.
CNET Asia has a review of the E-Ten glofiish X500 and writes, “We had no problem making and receiving calls with the glofiish X500. We did find the touchscreen a little unresponsive at times, though, and not just when using speed dial or the tappable on-screen number pad. The battery was very impressive, giving just over ten hours of continuous music from a full charge with the screen forced to stay on. This bodes well for those wanting to use the glofiish X500 for music and radio listening, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or GPS away from mains power.” Link.
IT Reviews has a review of the E-TEN Glofiish X500 and writes, “When it comes to battery performance I found that I got continuous music playback from a full battery for just over ten hours with the screen forced to stay on. This is really very good for a Pocket PC. And if you are wondering about memory, my review sample had 52MB free and a slot for a microSD card on the bottom edge of the casing where it is easily accessible. … Because the Glofiish X500 is not supported by an operator contract it is rather expensive. But it is comparable in functions to T-Mobile’s new MDA Compact III and O2’s new XDA Orbit, and may be worth adding to your ‘compare list’ if you are considering either of those.” Link.
