Cingular 8125 Reviews

Newsfactor reviews the Cingular 8125 and says, about the device’s performance: “The Cingular 8125 smartphone has been designed around a dual-core processor that bumps up the device’s speed performance well beyond what one would normally expect from a 200-MHz chip. Road warriors will appreciate the handset’s sliding keyboard, which renders the device impervious to the hinge connectivity problems all-too-often associated with clamshell designs. On the downside, the sliding keyboard does not lend itself to one-handed operations.”

Brighthand reviews the Cingular 8125 (a rebranded HTC Wizard), and concludes, “The Cingular 8125 is certainly not a flashy device, and doesn’t stand out dramatically in either specs or features. But it’s solid, and has a respectable mix of features that make it a dependable data device that also does voice. It lacks 3G data, but has the benefits of GSM flexibility. There’s no flash, very little excess of style, and almost nothing in the way of “fun” or non-vital features. But if your main goal is a large, comfortable keyboard on a data-oriented GSM device, the 8125 fulfills that rather well.”

Infosync has a review of the Cingular 8125 and writes, “The 8125 comes with an impressive arsenal of messaging options, not the least of which is its new push e-mail capabilities for corporate Exchange users … Keying in messages was a breeze thanks to the 8125’s roomy, slide-out thumbboard, which boasts a full set of wide, slightly domed keys … With its roomy, slide-out keypad, full suite of mobile Office apps, push e-mail capabilities and built-in Wi-Fi, Cingular’s 8125 makes for a formidable smartphone, even compared to the latest EV-DO-enabled competitors. However, the tricky Windows Mobile 5.0 menu system requires a precise, steady hand with the stylus, and the phone’s lack of 3G data access puts it a step behind such business-phone powerhouses as the 700p and 700w Palm Treos.”
