Panasonic SDR-H250 Review at CNET Australia

CNET Australia reviews the Panasonic SDR-H250 and writes, “Unfortunately for Panasonic, standard-definition shooters are starting to look endangered as we enter the hi-def age, with products like Sony’s Handycam HDR-SR1 around. Although this smart, sexy model is a great introduction to digital movie-making, its shelf-life appears dangerously short.”

SimplyDV reviews the Panasonic SDR-H250 and writes, ” As we always go to great efforts to point out here in SimplyDV reviews, it’s vitally important always to regard the target usage for any model when assessing its performance and, therefore, its suitability in the marketplace. Like so many low-cost digital camcorders today, the SDR-H250 is aimed at the beginner or casual home user who’s looking for a camcorder that can be used in all the usual social domestic situations and which enables the recording and subsequent transfer of movie clips and stills to TV or DVD (etc) with ease. In that respect, the SDR-H250 does everything the total camcorder newbie will require of it - and more. It’s not aimed at professionals or even serious enthusiasts - it’s aimed at ordinary users, and in that respect it provides what many users will consider to be great value indeed.” Link.
Trusted Reviews has a review of the Panasonic SDR-H250 ans writes, “The Panasonic SDR-H250 is not a camcorder which will appeal to the video enthusiast, despite its trio of CCDs and comprehensive manual controls. The lack of audio inputs and accessory shoe discount it for anything other than its target market. The ability to record to SD is also a bit of a white elephant - with a 30GB hard disk on board, you will rarely use the removable option. But at just over £400, this is still a keenly priced hard disk camcorder, and should satisfy the non-enthusiast looking to shoot video in this format.” Link.
