HardwareZone reviews the JVC GZ-MG330 and writes, “JVC’s new Everio GZ-MG330 camcorder is so small and light that we barely noticed the difference when we chucked it into our bags - that’s how light this beauty of a camcorder is. It’s also the main draw for this camcorder, as you can bring it anywhere without being weighed down unlike bulkier camcorders. Sealing the deal for the Everio GZ-MG330 are the three color choices (sapphire blue, ruby red or diamond silver) available, which makes it all the more attractive for potential buyers…The JVC Everio GZ-MG330 is definitely a handy little camcorder that’s easy to use and bring with you. It’s not a workhorse though, due to its average image resolution. If you’re keen on shooting quality videos, perhaps the latest HD hard drive based camcorders might be more your type. Based on its small size, price and tape/DVD-less operation though, the M330 still strikes us as a product worth a look for the average consumer.” Link.
Trusted Reviews has a review of the JVC GZ-MG330 and writes, “Despite its fruity new look, the MG330 has a relatively run of the mill specification. It’s built around a 1/6in CCD with a gross 800,000 pixels, but only half that number is used for video or still images. This is par for the course for a camcorder at this price, and the largest digital photos are therefore only 640 x 480. So the MG330 is no convergence special either…Despite being a hard disk-based camcorder, the JVC Everio GZ-MG330 weighs less than 400g. It’s still a bit heavy and bulky for carrying around in a pocket of any nature, but you won’t think twice about stuffing it in a bag when you head out for a trip. This is rather impressive, and negates one of the weaknesses of the hard disk camcorder format. Couple that with its decent image quality in most conditions and very reasonable price, and the Everio GZ-MG330 makes for a bargain choice.” Link.
CNET UK reviews the JVC GZ-MG330 and writes, “High definition may be grabbing all the headlines at the moment, but not everyone is ready to make the leap to shooting in HD. Some just want a small, unobtrusive camcorder that records good-quality footage and doesn’t cost the earth. These are exactly the type of people JVC is targeting with the Everio GZ-MG330, a hard-disk-based standard-definition shooter that’s small enough to fit in even the tiniest of bags…JVC has really hit a sweet spot with the petite and handsome Everio GZ-MG330. It shoots great quality standard-definition footage, has a long optical zoom range and is very easy to use. In fact, at its current sub-£250 price tag we think it’s rather a bargain.” Link.
PC Authority reviews the JVC GZ-MG330 Everio and writes, “Compared with the poor video test results of the CG9, the JVC represents a great leap in quality for a small jump in money, but unfortunately, spend $300 less and you get an increase in resolution from 720 x 576 to 1280 x 720 from the Sanyo HD700, and far better image quality as well…The JVC is therefore a poor choice among its competitors. Its vast storage doesn’t atone for lower quality video.” Link.
The Washingtonpost reviews the JVC GZ-MG330 Everio and writes, “When it comes to packing in great video performance, high capacity, and ease of use, the JVC GZ-MG330 is a winner. The footage won’t look as good as what you get from a high def camcorder and it won’t be as easy to use as the Flip Mino, but the MG330 treads a comfortable middle ground. It has excellent video quality for a standard definition camcorder and the Laser Touch controls are imperfect, but ultimately successful. Most importantly, you have a camcorder that is easy to use from interface to editing. The GZ-MG330 might just be the best standard definition camcorder we’ve seen this year.” Link.
