Toshiba gigashot GSC-R60 Reviews

CNET Australia has a review of the Toshiba gigashot GSC-R60 and writes, “In video mode, backlit subjects, a metre or less away, are handled well with gain automatically adjusted to ensure that the subject isn’t a shadowy blob. Gain, however, has to be manually set high for subjects further away. Unfortunately, the gigashot misses out on optical image stabilisation, making do with the electronic kind which does an adequate job at wider angles. The trade-off, though, for stabilisation is a slightly softer image. … Despite some design foibles, and troubled TV connectivity, the GSC-R60 is a good value hard-disk camcorder.” Link.

PCAuthority has a review of the Toshiba gigashot GSC-R60 and writes, “The Gigashot simply feels too much like a glorified camera phone. Even though it is capable of taking some passable images under strict manual supervision, it unfortunately can’t keep up with other hard-drive based video cameras when it comes to automatic use. … Unfortunately a good menu system does not maketh a good camera. Even though the battery life is quite good and the button layout is superb, the image quality leaves a lot to be desired.” Link.
