Panasonic PV-GS85 Reviews

CNET reviews the Panasonic PV-GS85 and writes, “The Panasonic PV-GS85 is a decent budget camcorder in its own right, but you could get a much better camera for the same or a slightly higher price. The comparably priced Canon ZR850, for example, outshines the PV-GS85 in almost every way.” Link.

CamcorderInfo reviews the Panasonic PV-GS and writes, “The Panasonic PV-GS85 is a cut above the average entry-level camcorder. On the whole, the video quality will not impress. After all, this is a below-$300 model and only so much can be expected. What surprised us was the low light performance. The camcorder managed to retain information at very low light levels, a feat not commonly shared in this price class. True, that’s very grainy, low-res footage, but it trumped the competition by a fair margin.” Link.

InventorSpot reviews the Panasonic PV-GS85 and writes, “For under $300, it’s tough to beat the Panasonic PV-GS85 - as long as you don’t mind having a MiniDV camcorder when most new camcorders are DVD or HDD format. The only downfall of the Panasonic PV-GS85 is the design flaw that I mentioned earlier, but other than that it’s a great budget camcorder.”
