JVC GZ-MG505U Review at CEN
CEN reviews the JVC GZ-MG505U and writes, “The JVC GZ-MG505U ($1,299 list) provides very high quality video even in low light situations. At this price though, the new HDV-based camcorders could be had, some that record to traditional miniDV tape, and some that record to a hard drive, so there is a tradeoff. I was able to get very good video of a high school student singing during a holiday rehearsal with nothing more than a spotlight on her as she walked down the stage, with excellent results. … In another situation, a gray day at the beach, and without a tripod, capturing footage of some surfers, and using the full zoom function, the video quality was just acceptable. There was too much camera shake, the lighting was wrong, and the subject matter was moving faster than the singer. … Still image quality is very good. Sound quality is very good as well.”
